This morning at 9.00am on the dot we got the call to advise our visas had been approved and we could come and collect our passports at the Embassy. Oh happy day! Talk about cutting it fine. Our flight to Singapore was booked for this afternoon at 3.00pm. It’s been very stressful waiting to hear. I’m feeling slightly hysterical. The man from the Embassy apologised for the delay. That’s something at least.
We were staying in a unit in Sydney for 10 days before we left Australia. We were due to check out of the unit that morning to catch our flight to Paris but because we didn’t think we were getting our visas we needed to go to plan X and find another unit temporarily and sit and wait until the visas and our passports were returned. It was going to be a lot of extra expense to have to do this. Also I’d packed up the unit in such a hurry, the way you pack when you’re returning from a holiday and you don’t care where you put anything. I’d stuffed things everywhere. We were resigned to not being able to fly out as scheduled so it was an amazing feeling of relief (and more hysteria) to know that we were actually going to be going to on the plane to France.
